I have officially started AMDA and finished my first full week of classes and now sat watching the TV with a kombucha after a day full of homework and what way to finish my day than write about the crazy busy week I have just had!
I don't even know where to really begin but I'll start with the most exciting parts. We did our dance placements this week to see what levels we should be in for dance and I got Level 4 (out of 5) for Tap and Jazz which is like 2nd set then Level 3 (3rd set) for ballet which is amazing for me! I haven't danced properly in a long time so to end up in these sets is a huge achievement for me! I love my new class and feel like I have genuine friends in the class which is truly an amazing feeling! They are genuinely lovely people and I love working with them already! I can tell this is gonna be a supportive and wonderful semester being each others cheerleaders! Even if I feel like an OAP next to them!
I do like most of my classes, except sight singing. Sight singing can get in the bin because NO ONE thought to mention that America has different naming system for music notes so I am completely lost after 2 lessons. Not holding high hopes at all for that. I am obsessed with Musical Theatre classes where we work on songs and how to act through song. I look forward to it the most! It's what I have really missed and I have the most genuinely lovely and postive teacher who wants to build us up instead of tearing us down which is what I respond to best when being taught.
My schedule is pretty ok, its so busy and we don't really get lunch breaks but I don't have any 8am starts and my latest finish is 5.30pm so I can get home and be asleep at a decent time.
